The approach

Work that carries over to football

There is no need for a complicated plan that clashes with your team sessions. We start with what you need, what you can do consistently and what your match week looks like.

How coaching works

Know your starting point

Talk through your goals and schedule, then use appropriate movement and performance screening to guide the plan.

Train with intent

Develop strength, acceleration, change of direction and power with clear coaching and sensible progression.

Adapt to the season

Adjust the work around team training, match demands, recovery and the time you actually have.

Meet Connor Dixon

I’m a Leeds-based Level 4 Strength & Conditioning Coach, Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 2 Gym Instructor. I also hold a Youth Strength & Conditioning Assistant qualification.

I’m building Pitch Performance to give footballers practical, individual coaching and a better understanding of their training. My philosophy is to master useful movement skills, build a solid strength base and progress speed and power work at a pace that makes sense for the player. Training should have a reason, and you should know what that reason is.

That means listening to your goals, coaching the details well and adapting the plan around team sessions, matches, recovery and life outside football. For younger athletes, I keep the work age appropriate and involve a parent or guardian when the player is under 18.
